Norihc Blue
Norihc Blue was created to advance stories that challenge the mind, fascinate the senses, and evoke healing. Built for marginalized authors, creators, and curators, Norihc Blue focuses on narratives that reflect and heal communities. More than a production studio, it operates as a lab, incubator, and think-tank designed to build on the intimate nature of storytelling. Norihc Blue passes the torch of empathy in a world often defined by apathy, matching talented, underrepresented artists with platforms that amplify their voices.

The Challenge
Norihc Blue came to w7th at a pivotal moment of transformation. They possessed a profound vision — to use storytelling as a vessel for communal healing — but lacked a visual and verbal identity that captured that weight. The challenge was to develop a distinctive brand that encompassed the studio’s full nature: the intellectual rigor of a “think-tank” and the fluid, empathetic soul of a creative incubator. We needed to create a brand that felt both established and transformative.
The Result
We created a fluid, adaptable visual identity that serves as a living vessel for Norihc Blue’s work. Through a blend of strategic insight and artistic craft, we delivered:
- A Primary Identity: A logo that breathes life into the spirit of Yemọja, serving as a beacon for creators.
- A Fluid Design Language: Brand assets that utilize the organic movement of water to symbolize the ever-evolving nature of storytelling.
- A Defined Voice: A clear, empathetic tone of voice that allows Norihc Blue to speak with both authority and vulnerability.
Norihc Blue now stands as a fully realized brand, ready to lift the voices of creators and foster the deep, meaningful connections our world needs.
Uncovering the "Why"
Our process began with uncovering the “why.” We partnered closely with the Founder, Academy Award winning playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney, to establish a brand strategy and design language that echoed the weight of their mission. We wanted a symbol that could represent that.

Cultural Alignment
Initial talks involved creating a symbol based on the Greek mythology surrounding Chiron, the Wounded Healer — a centaur revered for using his pain to heal others, and the partial inspiration for norihc. We ultimately decided centering a European figure did the brand a disservice, considering its focus on marginalized creators, their stories, and their communities.
A Brand in Motion
We found our cornerstone in Yemọja — the Mother of All and Goddess of the Ocean in the West African Yoruba faith. By centering the primary logo on her essence, we anchored the brand in an African legacy of protection, creation, and wisdom. From there, we developed a visual system inspired by her dominion over water. We focused on the concepts of natural motion, constant flow, and the quiet power of the tide — elements that reflect how stories move through and change a community.
